॥ Chapter 8, Shloka 23 ॥

यत्र काले त्वनावृत्तिमावृत्तिं चैव योगिन: |
प्रयाता यान्ति तं कालं वक्ष्यामि भरतर्षभ || ८.२३ ||

Summary Translation:

O best of the Bharatas, I shall now explain to you the different times at which, passing away from this world, the yogi does or does not come back.

Detailed Analysis:

Krishna identifies the 'Theoretic Importance of the Moment of Departure.' He says, 'yatra kāle'—at which (yatra) time (kāle). 'anāvṛittim āvṛittim chaiva'—non-return (anāvṛittim) and return (āvṛittim). 'yoginaḥ prayātā yānti'—yogis (yoginaḥ) having departed (prayātā) achieve (yānti). 'taṁ kālaṁ vakṣhyāmi'—that (taṁ) time (kālaṁ) I shall explain (vakṣhyāmi). This analysis focuses on the 'Theoretic Science of the Final Exit.' Krishna is introducing the concept that the 'Circumstances' of death—the timing and the cosmic conditions—influence the soul’s trajectory. In the 'Theoretic Framework of Eschatology,' there are specific 'Windows' or 'Portals' in time. This detailed analysis reveals that Krishna defines 'Death' as a 'Transition' governed by laws as precise as physics. The word 'Kāla' (Time) here doesn't just mean a clock-time, but the 'Cosmic Environment.' This shloka provides a ' Framework for the Soul’s Navigation.' It teaches that a yogi must be aware of the 'Currents' of the universe. Krishna is telling Arjuna that 'I will give you the map and the schedule of the departing soul.' This is the ' Goal of the Navigating Seeker,' where 'The Timing' is 'Crucial'.

The detailed analysis of 'Anāvṛittim' (Non-return) is the 'Theoretic Description of the Exit-Velocity.' In our practical lives, we care about the timing of 'Flights' and 'Trains.' Krishna is stating that the 'Soul’s Flight' also has a schedule. Krishna is defining 'The Self' as the 'One who understands the cosmic cycles.' This shloka provides a 'Framework for Strategic Departure.' It teaches that 'Yoga' is not just about how to live, but how to 'Leave.' Krishna is defining 'Bharatarṣhabha' (Best of the Bharatas) as the worthy recipient of this secret science. This verse is the ' Proof that the universe is a structured system with gates.' By using the word 'Vakṣhyāmi' (I shall speak), He promises a 'Technical Manual' for the transition. This shloka is the 'Universal Manual for the Departing Soul,' forcing us to realize that 'The moment of death is the most important exam of our life'. This is the ' Goal of the Prepared Seeker,' where 'The Transition' is 'Scientific'.

Deep Philosophical Significance and Analysis:

Philosophically, Shloka 8.23 explores the 'Ontology of the Moment.' , 'Time' is not just a 'Quantity' but a 'Quality.' This verse highlights the 'Theory of the Departure Windows.' Philosophically, it addresses the 'Nature of the Interaction between Consciousness and Cosmic Forces.' , the soul’s vibration at death must 'Match' the vibration of the path it takes. This verse highlights the 'Ontology of the Ordered Exit.'

The framework of 'Kāla' (Time) refers to 'The Philosophy of Universal Rhythms.' , the macrocosm (universe) and the microcosm (individual) are 'Synchronized.' Philosophically, this verse addresses the 'Nature of Return.' , 'Return' (*Āvṛittim*) happens when the soul is still 'Entangled' with the material rhythms of the moon and darkness. This shloka is the 'End of Randomness.' , nothing about the soul's journey is 'Accidental.' Philosophically, it highlights the 'Relationship between Knowledge and Fate.' , knowing the 'Times' allows the yogi to use 'Will' to choose the 'Path.' Krishna is teaching 'Metaphysical Navigation.' From a religious perspective, this shloka teaches 'The Significance of Auspicious Timing.' This verse is the ' Proof that the universe is a coordinated machine,' providing the logical structure to understand that 'God is found in the order of the cosmic law'. It highlights the 'Sanatana' wisdom that 'The Spirit' is 'Found in the Timing'.
