दिव्यं ददामि ते चक्षु: पश्य मे योगमैश्वरम् || ११.८ ||
Summary Translation:
But you cannot see Me with your present eyes. Therefore I give you divine eyes. Behold My majestic mystic opulence!
Krishna identifies the 'Theoretic Limitation of Physical Senses.' He says, 'na tu māṁ śhakyase draṣhṭum anenaiva sva-chakṣhuṣhā'—but you cannot see Me with these human eyes of yours. This analysis focuses on the 'Theoretic Gap between Matter and Spirit.' Our biological eyes are designed to see 'Reflected Light' from 'Material Objects.' The Lord is 'Self-Luminous Spirit,' which is outside the range of physical optics. He then says, 'divyaṁ dadāmi te chakṣhuḥ'—I give you (dadāmi) Divine Eyes (divyaṁ chakṣhuḥ). This detailed analysis reveals that Krishna defines 'Spiritual Vision' as a gift, not a biological evolution. Finally, He commands: 'paśhya me yogam aiśhvaram'—behold My sovereign mystic power. This shloka provides a ' Framework for Supernatural Perception.' It teaches that to see the Infinite, the 'Instrument' of seeing must be upgraded by the Infinite itself. Krishna is telling Arjuna that 'Your current equipment is not enough; I am giving you a new way to see reality.' This is the ' Goal of the Transformed Seeker,' where 'The Vision' is 'Empowered'.
[Image representing the Divya Chakshu or Divine Eye as a third eye of radiant light opening, allowing a person to see beyond the physical veil]The detailed analysis of 'Divyaṁ Chakṣhuḥ' (Divine Eye) is the 'Theoretic Description of Intuitive Realization.' In our practical lives, we rely on data and evidence. Krishna is stating that 'Divine Data' requires a 'Divine Receiver.' Krishna is defining 'The Self' as the 'Object' that cannot be grasped by the 'Subject' without help. This shloka provides a 'Framework for the Mystery of Grace.' It teaches that 'Shakyam' (Possibility) is created by 'Dadāmi' (Giving). Krishna is defining 'Yogam Aiśhvaram' as the ' Mechanics of Divine Manifestation.' This verse is the ' Proof that the Lord is the light of the eyes.' By giving these eyes, He covers the 'Gap' between the human and the Divine. This shloka is the 'Universal Manual for Acknowledging our Blindness,' forcing us to realize that 'We are blind to the Truth until the Truth itself gives us the sight to see'. This is the ' Goal of the Gifted Seeker,' where 'The Sight' is 'Localized'.
