इदं ज्ञानमुपाश्रित्य मम साधर्म्यमागताः।
सर्गेऽपि नोपजायन्ते प्रलये न व्यथन्ति च।। १४.२ ।।
Summary Translation:
By becoming fixed in this knowledge, one can attain to the transcendental nature, which is like My own nature. Thus established, one is not born at the time of creation nor disturbed at the time of dissolution.
In this second shloka, Lord Krishna explains the Result of attaining the supreme knowledge. He states that those who upasritya (take shelter in) this knowledge achieve mama sadharmyam—they attain the Nature of the Lord Himself. This is a profound promise of Transformation. Achieving Sadharmya does not mean becoming God in the sense of having all cosmic powers, but it means acquiring the Divine Attributes such as eternal peace, infinite bliss, and absolute purity. The religious interpretation of this verse emphasizes the State of a Jivanmukta—one who is liberated while still in the body. Krishna further explains the Immunity that comes with this realization: sarge 'pi nopajayante pralaye na vyathanti ca. This means that such souls are not born again during the Creation (Sarga) and are not disturbed or destroyed during the Dissolution (Pralaya) of the universe. For the average human, the cycle of birth and death is a Burden dictated by Karma. However, for one who has Mastered the science of the Gunas, the cosmic cycles of time become irrelevant. They stand Outside the reach of Maya. This analysis highlights that the true Goal of Hinduism is not just a better life in the next birth, but a permanent Exit from the material cycle. The Strength of this knowledge is such that it makes the devotee Equal in nature to the Divine. It suggests that our current state of Limitation is only due to our Identification with the modes of nature. Once we Detach from the Gunas and take shelter in the Lord's wisdom, we Reclaim our original, immortal nature. This shloka provides a Perspective on immortality that is not based on the physical body but on the Unchanging spirit. It offers a sense of Security that nothing in the material world, not even the end of the universe, can touch the soul that has Awakened. Thus, the detailed analysis of this verse points to the Invincibility of the soul when it is Anchored in the Supreme Knowledge provided by Krishna.
