मां च योऽव्यभिचारेण भक्तियोगेन सेवते।
स गुणान्समतीत्यैतान्ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते।। १४.२६ ।।
Summary Translation:
One who engages in full devotional service, unfailing in all circumstances, at once transcends the modes of material nature and thus comes to the level of Brahman.
In this crucial verse, Lord Krishna provides the Method for transcending the Gunas, answering Arjuna's third question (katham). He declares that whoever sevate (serves) Him with avyabhicârena bhakti-yogena (unswerving/undeviating devotional yoga) samatityaitân (crosses over these) Gunas and kalpate (becomes fit) for brahma-bhûyâya (the state of Brahman). This analysis presents Bhakti as the Shortcut and the Most Powerful Tool for Liberation. While the previous verses described the State of a Gunatita, this verse provides the Means. The term avyabhicârena is Vital—it means Single-mindedness where no Distraction or other material Motivation exists. In a religious sense, this shloka reveals that Effort alone is often insufficient to Overpower the Gunas; one requires Grace obtained through Devotion. Krishna is Asserting that by Focusing on the Source (Himself), the Practitioner naturally Outgrows the Gunas. This Alchemy transforms the Consciousness from being Material to Theologicaly Divine. The state of brahma-bhûyâya is the Realization of one's Oneness with the Infinite. For a devotee, this is the Guarantee of the Lord. The detailed interpretation emphasizes that Service (seva) to the Personal Form of God is the Engine that drives the soul Beyond the modes of Prakriti. This shloka thus serves as a Beacon, showing that the Path to Perfection is paved with Love and Surrender. It Simplifies the Complexity of the Gunas into a Relationship with the Creator.
